Day Three

Day three of the Carolina Hurricanes continued to build on what the team had accomplished the previous days. All of the off season rust seams to have gone away and the team is looking good. And some potential lines are starting to take shape.

One potential line is that of Erik Haula with Martin Necas and Warren Foegele at his sides. This line is fast. And I mean really fast. If something is to become of this line, it will be hard for the opposition to keep up for sure.

One day two the goaltenders allowed a lot of goals. This wasn’t the case on day three. Petr Mrazek and Jame Reimer looked really good.  Petr especially. They should be a strong duo in the net, if that is who Rod Brind’amour and company decide to go with to start the season. I sat in on the goalie practice on day two and new goalie coach, Jason Muzzati, is hard at work with all of them to ensure that goaltending won’t be an issue for the team this year.

Martin Necas crashed into the boards going very fast. He left the ice but came back out shortly after and appeared to be fine.

Later on in practice, Teuvo Teravainen also took a nasty spill into the boards on the east side of the ice. The thud echoed in the arena. It took a few minutes for him to get up. He went over to the bench and had his skates checked out. He came back onto the ice a bit later. So it may have been a broken blade or something. I spoke with him after practice and asked how he was feeling and he said he was doing alright. So there’s no reason for us to worry.

Onto day four.
