Mark my words, Martin Necas is going to be a superstar in the NHL. It isn’t a question of if; at this point, it is a question of when.

Necas was given a crack at the Hurricanes roster earlier on this season, but after tallying only 1 goal and 1 assist during his 7 NHL games played, Necas seemed to need a bit more seasoning in the AHL.

Necas, over the course of this season, has developed into an absolute powerhouse. The young forward turned in a solid performance this season, netting 16 goals and 36 assists for a combined point total of 52 points in 64 regular season games played.

Necas is yet another highly intelligent player the Hurricanes have waiting in the wings, and would be absolutely lethal paired with Nino Niederreiter or Teuvo Teravainen. Putting all three of these guys on a line together would be an amazing site to see. Look for Necas to make a stronger case at cracking the roster this September and October.
