Ducks have trouble staying healthy

It seems like as soon as Anaheim’s veteran captain Ryan Getzlaf returned to the lineup, they lost another huge star. Corey Perry is the leading scorer for the Ducks with 22 points, and this team can ill afford to lose him.

However, a tough collision between Perry and Jeff Skinner in the first period sent him down with a lower body injury. Perry’s leg went down at an awkward angle and he went down immediately. He also had to be helped off the ice right after the collision.

After the injury, Perry was announced as doubtful to return with a lower body injury. He did not return to Anaheim’s bench the rest of the way.

Anaheim is a team that has large expectations year in and year out with the talent on the roster. Gibson powered them to the victory in this one, but the offense is going to have to kick in soon if the Ducks are to make a playoff push.
