The team’s roster is currently consisted of 6 goalies, 19 defensemen, and 32 forwards for a total of 57 players. Among this group of players are one-way contract players, two-way contract players, unsigned rookies/junior players, AHL free agent signings, and training camp invitees.

Of the two-way players on the roster, Haydn Fleury and Roland McKeown are the only two non-AHL eligible players. Meaning, if they get cut from the NHL roster, they will have to play their 2015-2016 season in junior. Fleury would return to the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL, and McKeown would go back to the Kingston Frontenacs of the OHL.

All the unsigned rookies would return to their respective junior club if they do not make the cut. If any of them were to make the cut, they would need to sign NHL contracts prior to playing in any regular season games.

Any AHL-contract players would also have to sign NHL deals in order to play in regular seasons games with the Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that the first day of training camp will be September 17 with early morning fitness testing, followed by the club’s first on-ice session on September 18. All practices will be open to the public, excluding September 19’s Season Ticket Holder Barbecue, which is open only to early-bird season ticket holders for the 2015-2016 season.
