Pick Explanation: The Carolina Hurricanes have a solid goalie prospect in Daniel Altshuller, a third round draft pick in 2012, but they will add another goalie to the fray with the 97th pick.
Linus Soderstrom impressed in the U-18 Junior Championships this past season when he had a sub-2.00 goals against average for Sweden in net with a .917 save percentage.
He played 23 games with Djurgården and had a 2.61 goals against average with a .915 save percentage.
The Carolina Hurricanes would be fortunate to take Soderstrum in the fourth round. He could compete with Daniel Altshuller for the position of best goalie prospect in the Carolina Hurricanes system.
The 17-year-old has a bright future ahead of him, and he has a lot of time to develop.
