I am dedicating Throwdown Thursday to the Seven Days to Skinny series. Instead of comparing the Hurricanes to another team in a fictitious throwdown, we are going to pin Jeff Skinner against his fellow Calder Trophy nominees, Michael Grabner and Logan Couture, in a skills competition based on regular season statistics.

The Carolina Hurricanes announced late yesterday afternoon that they sent Niclas Wallin and a fifth-round draft pick to San Jose for their 2nd round pick in 2010.  This will be the first time Nicky will play in a uniform besides the one of the Carolina Hurricanes.  Nicky went on to say how it was hard to know he was getting off the team plane for the last time on Friday night.  Wallin holds the record for most playoff overtime winners by a defenseman with three.  He will be an added asset to an already great team in San Jose.  He [...]
