We all know how adept Alexander Semin is at scoring. His wicked shot, although sometimes erratic, is something the Canes need. Offense is a noticeable issue with our game and Semin’s wrist might not be what it used to be.
Semin played throughout the majority of last season with a nagging wrist injury and finally submitted to offseason wrist surgery. Rehab has been a long winding road and recent news that it might not be progressing as planned leads me to worry. The Canes, through media relations, state the opposite.
Semin has recently returned to the United States from Russia to continue his rehabilitation. He is supposedly on track to be ready for training camp, but only he’ll know when he’s back to 100%. I can only hope that his shot stays the same. We all know that we need it.
