Carolina Hurricanes Injury Report: Alexander Semin Progressing as Expected

Carolina Hurricanes’ Right Wing, Alexander Semin, is coming off of a 22 goal and 42 point season, while playing in only 65 games. Although these may be respectable numbers, Semin has the potential for much more. Concussions, an illness, and a wrist injury that he sustained for the duration of the season were to blame.

“He hurt it in training camp. He jammed it and had issues with that. He tried a couple different things over the course of the season, but more or less just played with the bad wrist all season.”

Alexander Semin underwent a successful surgery on his wrist and is on the schedule for this years training camp. Francis stated that he is “progressing as expected”, and we can expect him to be fully recovered for the 2014-2015 season. The problem is, he has a habit of being a repeating member of the Injury Reserve list. He has never completed an entire season, which is not a good sign for years to come. This sniper has proved to have one of the deadliest shots in all of the NHL. He needs to stay healthy because his role to the team is vital if they plan on becoming contenders for the playoffs. With the wrist problems behind him, I think that Alexander Semin has the potential for a very good season.
