Alex Nedeljkovic to Miss Carolina Hurricanes Development Camp with Broken Thumb

Carolina Hurricanes goalie prospect Alex Nedeljkovic will not attend the team’s prospect development camp due to a broken thumb. Surgery will not be required for the injury.

The Carolina Hurricanes drafted Alex Nedeljkovic with the 37th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Alex Nedeljkovic had a 26-27-7 record with the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL in the 2013-2014 regular season. Despite his sub .500 record, Alex Nedeljkovic had a 2.88 goals against average (8th in the OHL) and a .925 save percentage (2nd in the OHL) last season in Plymouth. He was named OHL goalie of the year following the 2013-2014 season.

Alex Nedeljkovic may still take part in the Traverse City prospect tournament in September with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Daniel Altshuller and Logan Halladay will be the two goalies in attendance at the Carolina Hurricanes prospect development camp, which will be held July 21-July 26 at the PNC Arena.

Daniel Altshuller was the 69th overall pick by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2012 NHL Draft. He had a 31-13-3 record with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL in the 2013-2014 regular season. Altshuller posted a 2.56 goals against average and a .917 save percentage last season in Oshawa.

Logan Halladay is a homegrown product out of Cary, North Carolina. Halladay went undrafted in the 2014 NHL Draft, but he did have a very good season with Janesville in the NAHL in the 2013-2014 season. He had a record of 18-8-2 with a 2.26 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. Halladay was a member of the Jr. Hurricanes 16U team during the 2011-2012 season.

Halladay has committed to play college hockey at the University of Minnesota.
