Evander Kane is a player that has been in the middle of trade rumors for years now with the Winnipeg Jets, but are we finally closing in on a move that sends the 22-year-old forward out of Manitoba?
When asked if he wanted to play for the Winnipeg Jets on a radio interview, Evander Kane gave an interesting answer.
“Well, I think I’m a Winnipeg Jet right now, and, you know, there’s been speculation and rumors the three years since I got there. So, you know, we’ll see what happens and we’ll carry on as if I’m a Winnipeg Jet.”
Evander Kane went on to say that he will continue to train hard for the upcoming season, regardless of who he plays for.
Teams rumored to have interest in Evander Kane include the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes, Montreal Canadiens, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, and New York Rangers.
Evander Kane’s attitude and personality have been questioned highly over the years, but his talent on the ice is very impressive.
Since breaking into the NHL in 2009, Evander Kane has tallied 99 goals and 200 points in 324 games. Those stats are very nice, but he has yet to reach that next, star level of play that was expected of him when he was drafted 4th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Evander Kane comes with risks, but in the right situation, the Vancouver, British Columbia native could thrive.
