Carolina Hurricanes Rumors: Ulf Samuelsson still the Frontrunner for Head Coach of the Carolina Hurricanes?

Darren Dreger reported today that he still thinks that Ulf Samuelsson will get the head coaching job with the Carolina Hurricanes.

I believe and most believe that Samuelsson will get the head coaching job in Carolina, but Francis and the Hurricanes are taking their time as well so they must have other plans.”

Kevin Dineen and Ulf Samuelsson have been the only two names seriously discussed for the head coach job of the Carolina Hurricanes so far amongst the media. We haven’t heard anything from Kevin Dineen lately, and we have started to hear more and more about Ulf Samuelsson.

Either the Carolina Hurricanes are playing their cards very close, which is very possible, or Ulf Samuelsson is actually the far and away frontrunner for the job.

Other names on the market for the Carolina Hurricanes to hire include Kevin Dineen, Dan Bylsma, Jacques Martin, John Stevens, and many others. The Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers are also looking for new coaches.

The Vancouver Canucks are coming off an extremely disappointing season, and they may blow everything up this offseason. The Florida Panthers will have the first pick in this year’s draft after another finish at the bottom of the NHL.

The Carolina Hurricanes have the big pieces in place to succeed, so the team should still be a somewhat attractive destination for head coaches.
