Carolina Hurricanes News

My Opinion

Mike Vellucci was a great addition by the Carolina Hurricanes organization. He brings a wealth of experience in the OHL, which is bound to help the drafting and scouting of prospects.

He will also bring great hockey knowledge to the front office. He will be able to pick out current NHL players and get them in Raleigh to play for the Carolina Hurricanes

NHL Playoffs

Chicago Blackhawks (2) – Minnesota Wild (2)

Anaheim Ducks (1) – Los Angeles Kings (2)

Boston Bruins (2) – Montreal Canadiens (2)

Pittsburgh Penguins (3) – New York Rangers (2)

All of the second round series in the NHL Playoffs have been extremely entertaining. The Minnesota Wild have shocked many people by staying in their series with the Chicago Blackhawks. The two teams are all tied up at two games each. The home team has won every game of the series.

The Los Angeles Kings jumped out to a 2-0 series lead, but the Ducks came back and won a 3-2 game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Kings will host the Ducks on Saturday night for game four.

The Boston Bruins were down in their series with the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 going into Thursday night, but they won 1-0 in overtime of game four to tie the series at two games apiece. They will square off in Boston for game five on Saturday.

The New York Rangers stayed alive after winning game five in their series with the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 on Friday night. The Pens have a 3-2 leading going back home for game six on Sunday.
