My Opinion

The Carolina Hurricanes struggled to make much of a contribution on the ice this year, but they were able to do some awesome things off the ice. The Canes’ Kids ‘N Community Foundation donated $528,000 to local charities this year.

Since 1997, the Carolina Hurricanes have made the community a top priority, and they made a big difference this season. If there is one thing to be a bit happy about after this season, it should be this great accomplishment for the Carolina Hurricanes and the Foundation.

Long-time player sponsored contributions like Cam Ward‘s “Cam’s Champs” and Eric Staal‘s “Eric’s Entourage” brought many kids to hockey games and put them in the PNC Arena suits.

In the end, 32 local organizations benefited from the work done by the Carolina Hurricanes and the Kids ‘N Community Foundation, and that is something to be very proud of.
