My Opinion

There’s really not too much to be argued here. A lot of the Canes’ prospects in juniors and college had some great seasons and Brock McGinn had the best season of any of them.

I do have a couple of things to add, though. Daniel Altshuller had a great season with the Oshawa Generals, but didn’t win any of the awards because there were only a couple he could have won. Either way, don’t forget about his play. He’s in the top five Hurricanes’s prospects.

Although the prospects in juniors and college had great years, the same can’t be said about the players with the Charlotte Checkers. Victor Rask, Keegan Lowe and Danny Biega all came with high profiles, but didn’t make a name for themselves in their rookie seasons.

Rask played better at the end of the season and it was the trio’s first stint with pros, so success may just come slow.
