Michal Jordan Heads To Czech Republic Camp

The Charlotte Checkers defenseman is heading to training camp for the Czech Republic in preparation of the World Championships. Jordan is expected to play in two exhibition games before the tournament starts.

From there it will be decided if he will join the team for the tournament that starts on May 9. Jordan has been one of the best Checkers defensemen in recent years, but has never broken through into the NHL roster.

He is also a restricted free agent who the Canes will have to decide on if he is worth re-signing or not.

In a press release from the Checkers’ website, Jordan says he does have opportunities overseas, and while he was disappointed that he didn’t receive playing time this season, he is willing to come back to the Hurricanes organization.

If Jordan does make the Czech Republic team, it would help him in his efforts of making the NHL lineup.
