Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers season couldn’t have ended much worse as they lost to the Rockford Ice Hogs, 7-3, last night.

At the end of the first, the game was actually tied at two with Charlotte’s goals coming from Ryan Murphy and Victor Rask, but by the end of the second, it was 4-2 Ice Hogs.

Rockford then scored the next three goals before Brody Sutter scored in the third to get the run stopped.

John Muse made 30 saves, while Murphy added an assist and Phil Di Giuseppe recorded his first AHL point in the form of an assist on Sutter’s goal. Sergey Tolchinsky played in his first AHL game of his career.

This offseason could be an interesting one in Charlotte with management changes possibly affecting the team and players like Brett Sutter, Zach Boychuk and Chris Terry free agents.
