My Opinion

Eric Staal will always be the whipping boy in Carolina when things go wrong. He makes too much money and brings a superstar past with him that fnas demand from him nearly every game, but of course that’s not going to happen.

Having said that, it would be nice to see a little more out of Staal and I don’t mean in terms of just production. At times he looks listless, which could be because of another bad season in Raleigh, but he does need to put more of an effort into games, whether they matter or not.

I’m not 100 percent with moving Staal, as has been rumored. He is a first-line center that won’t be easy to replace, but unfortunately his pay is steep and with a number of players already making a good amount of money, he’s a main target for a move.

But all this speculation will be answered soon enough in the offseason.
