Charlotte Checkers Preview

After a four-day break, the Checkers still hold onto the eighth and final spot in the West, but with only a two-point lead on the Oklahoma City Barons. Tonight the team will try to create more space against the San Antonio Rampage at 8:30 p.m.

The game will definitely not be an easy one for the Checkers, who could be without Zach Boychuk, Chris Terry and Aaron Palushaj or three of the biggest scorers on the team.

Terry and Boychuk are with the Hurricanes, but could be sent back down sometime today for the game, while Palushaj is injured.

With the three missing, more of the offensive production will fall onto Brett Sutter, who has played first-line center all season, and Victor Rask, who has played well lately.

John Muse has played well in net, while Mike Murphy has struggled recently.
