Carolina Hurricanes Injury Report: April 4, 2014

The Carolina Hurricanes will be down two players on Thursday night when they play the Dallas Stars at the PNC Arena.

Alexander Semin missed morning skate on Thursday. He was out due to flu-like symptoms. He will not play against the Dallas Stars, but he should not be out too long.

The Carolina Hurricanes will miss the strong scoring touch that Alexander Semin brings to the top-six and the power play, but they will have to find a way to get by without him.

Drayson Bowman also missed morning skate Thursday morning due to flu-like symptoms. Unlike Alexander Semin, Bowman will likely be easily replaced in the Carolina Hurricanes’ lineup if he doesn’t play against the Dallas Stars. It has not yet been announced whether he will play or not.

Jiri Tlusty was hit hard by Eric Gryba on March 31 when the Carolina Hurricanes fell to the Ottawa Senators 2-1 in shootout. Tlusty did not return to the game, and he will not play against the Dallas Stars on Thursday.

The Carolina Hurricanes forward has not played since he was injured in Ottawa, and he did not participate in the team’s morning skate on Thursday.

The Carolina Hurricanes recalled Zach Boychuk from the Charlotte Checkers today, so he may get a bigger role since so many forwards are out of the lineup.
