My Opinion

I don’t think there’s any doubt Andrej Sekera will be back next year. There’s no reason for the Hurricanes to get rid of him and has arguable played better than Justin Faulk all season.

Jeff Skinner and Nathan Gerbe are options I agree with to keep. Skinner is too valuable and Gerbe has shown his worth and could probably do more with a better bottom six around him.

But from this point on, it gets a little shaky for me. I believe one of the Staal brothers, possibly both, will be gone next year. It’s just that they make too much money and while I like both of them, it’s too much of a dent in the salary cap.

I think Jiri Tlusty should be gone just to force the team to bring in someone else for the top six.
