Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers failed to improve their playoff chances yet again as they lost 4-2 to the San Antonio Rampage.

The Rampage took a commanding lead in the second scoring two goals in the 20 minutes of play to build a 3-1 lead. Michal Jordan scored the lone Charlotte goal in the first 40 minutes of play.

Viktor Rask brought the Checkers within one, three minutes into the third period, but Wade Megan scored the clinching goal eight minutes later to give San Antonio the 4-2 lead that did not fall.

Chris Terry had two assists, Justin Shugg and Matt Corrente each had one and Mike Murphy made 26 saves in the loss.

The Checkers remain in ninth, however the Rochester Americans have leapfrogged them for eighth place and lead by three points.

Charlotte has off today before facing the Iowa Wild on Tuesday, who are last in the Western Conference.
