Lee Stempniak started the year with Calgary Flames. At the trade deadline, he was traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Since the trade he has 6 points in 7 games and is a +2.

The 31-year-old winger could go back and fourth between the top-six and bottom-six without much trouble, and he is good enough to do it. He is kind of like how Jussi Jokinen used to be for the Carolina Hurricanes, but to a lesser extent.

Lee Stempniak would bring much more offense than Steve Downie, but you would lose the grit that Downie brings. Lee Stempniak would would be a terrific two-way forward that could go up and down the Canes lineup. He could be a great addition for the team.
