Charlotte Checkers Preview

With the team back in the playoff race, the Checkers turn toward the Lake Erie Monsters, who they play tonight at 7 p.m.

The two teams met at the end of January/beginning of February for two games. Both teams came away with wins. The Monsters won a close 1-0 battle, while the Checkers scored five goals the next night to win 5-3.

Lately the Checkers have been getting diversity in scoring instead of the regular Zach Boychuk, Aaron Palushaj and Chris Terry production, which has really helped the team get back in the playoff race.

John Muse has been strong in net, including 43 saves in the last game.

The Checkers are still five points out of a playoff spot, but with how they are playing lately, post-season isn’t totally out of the question.
