Charlotte Checkers Recap
The Checkers won their second game in three last night as they defeated the San Antonio Rampage, 4-3.
Brett Sutter scored four minutes into the game before Jared Staal, who has dealt with injuries all season, scored his first of the season to take a 2-0 lead. But before the stanza was over, the Rampage tied it at two.
Sutter scored his second of the game for the lone goal in the second period.
Rampage center Wade Megan scored seven minutes in to tie it at three. Four minutes later, Aaron Palushaj scored his 20th of the season to give the Checkers the lead they held onto until the end of regulation.
Palushaj also added an assist to his game-winner, while John Muse made 34 saves to earn the win.
The Checkers still sit in 10th and three points behind ninth place, but still have a game-in-hand. Some good news is that they are now only five points out of a playoff spot.
