Charlotte Checkers Recap

While things did not go well at all for the Hurricanes this weekend, the Checkers had a pretty succesful weekend, winning their second game over the Hershey Bears last night, 6-3. Zach Boychuk led the team with three goals.

The Checkers busted out to three straight goals halfway through the second period. Chris Terry, Rasmus Rissanen and Ryan Murphy all chipped in with one. After two Bears goals, Boychuk started his run with three goals in the third period.

The former Penguin scored twice before Ryan Stoa scored to bring the Bears within one. With two seconds left, Boychuk finished the hat trick by scoring on the empty net. The forward now has 27 goals on the season.

Justin Peters earned his second win in a row, making 37 saves in the effort.

The Checkers play the Norfolk Admirals next on Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
