Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers ended a three-game losing streak last night at they routed the Hershey Bears, 4-1.

Zach Boychuk got the scoring started for the Checkers in the first period when he scored his 24th of the season. Ryan Stoa scored the Bear’s lone goal in the second stanza to tie it.

But more than two minutes later, Brody Sutter scored to give the Checkers a lead that they did not lose. Brett Sutter and Victor Rask also scored in the second period to give the team the 4-1 lead that would last until the end of regulation.

Rask added an assist, while Jared Staal, Danny Biega, Michal Jordan, Chris Terry, Rasmus Rissanen and Ryan Murphy all had one.

Justin Peters earned his first win since being sent down for his conditioning stint. He had 29 saves on 30 shots.

The Checkers play the Bears again this afternoon at 4 p.m.
