Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers continued their downward spiral as they lost their third game in a row last night, this time to the Norfolk Admirals, 3-2.

Philippe Cornet got the Checkers on the board first less than two minutes into the game, but by the end of the second, the Admirals had a 2-1 lead.

Rickard Rackell scored in the third period to give the Admirals a two-goal lead. Brett Sutter scored his seventh of the season with less than four minutes left to bring the Checkers within one, but a greater comeback could not be obtained.

Ryan Murphy had two assists, while Chris Terry had one. In his second game with Charlotte, Peters wasn’t tested as much, only facing 24 shots. He made 21 saves. It’s possible he is recalled at some point this week and possibly traded.

The Checkers play the Hershey Bears on Saturday next.
