Charlotte Checkers Recap

Justin Peters will have to wait to get his first game in with the Checkers during his conditioning stint as Mike Murphy was in net during the team’s 4-1 loss to the Texas Stars last night.

The Stars jumped out to an early lead with three goals in the first period and a scoreless second period kept the Checkers from making a comeback at all. Chris Terry scored 26 seconds into the third period with assists coming from Brody Sutter and Ryan Murphy.

However Charlotte couldn’t score again and Mike Hedden scored for the Stars with less than five minutes left to give the team the eventual 4-1 win.

The Checkers had no problem creating offense as they shot 36 times, but could only beat Christopher Nilstorp once. Murphy made 27 saves in the Checkers’ net.

The Stars and Checkers won’t have much time away from each other as they play again today at 8 p.m. Peters may take the start in net.
