What does the return of Peters mean for the Charlotte Checkers?
While much will be made of the possibility of Justin Peters being sent to the Checkers to try and bring around some trade options, the move could have a positive effect on Charlotte.
For one thing, John Muse was injured in the last game in the midst of a good performance, then Mike Murphy struggled when he came on in relief. That seems to be a common pattern for the team, which is used to having Peters in net.
With Peters coming back, it will give the Checkers a reliable option in net for the first time since he was called up by the Canes and it comes at a good time. The Checkers are 12th in the Western Conference and will play the Texas Stars, who are fourth, twice this weekend. With Peters in net, the team has a good chance of pulling out a win or two.
