Charlotte Checkers Recap
After having a three-goal lead at one point, it looked like the Checkers may squander the lead, but they were able to hold on and win a 4-3 decision over the Norfolk Admirals last night.
Chris Terry, Michal Jordan and Zach Boychuk all scored in the second period to give the Checkers a 3-0 lead. Devante Smith-Pelley scored for the Admirals before the end of the second to cut the lead to two.
Sean Dolan scored his first goal of the season to retake the three-goal lead in the third, but Smith-Pelley scored two more goals in nine minutes to bring the Admirals within one. The team could never tie it, giving the Checkers their second win in a row.
Boychuk added two assists, while Terry had one. Ryan Murphy also had an assist. John Muse was injured in the game, Mike Murphy came in for relief, but let in two goals on 12 shots. Muse made 27 saves on 28 shots.
Charlotte plays the Iowa Stars next on Friday.
