Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers third game against the Abbottsford Heat in the month of February went about the same as the first two meetings with the Heat winning in dominating fashion. This time by a 5-1 score.

The Heat scored the first two goals of the game before Victor Rask scored his ninth of the season on the Checkers’ lone goal. Chris Terry and Ryan Murphy had the assists. The Heat scored three unanswered goals from there to win by the four-goal margin.

John Msue stayed in net for the full 60 minutes, making 28 saves on 33 shots.

The Checkers will get another chance against the Heat this afternoon at 4 ET. The game will be a make-up for the postponed contest on Friday and will also be played in Raleigh in the Checkers’ last visit to the Hurricanes’ arena this season.
