Friday Carolina Hurricanes Report

Carolina Hurricanes News

  • Yesterday’s update on Hurricanes at the Olympics can be found here.
  • The Checkers will be in Raleigh over the Olympic break. You should probably go (Cardiac Cane)
  • However, the Checkers game that was originally supposed to be tonight has been pushed back until tomorrow due to the snow (Checkers’ Website)
  • Michael Peckerar looks at five deals the Hurricanes need to consider at the trade deadline (Rant Sports)

My Opinion: Justin Peters has obviously been on the block for a while now, because of numbers not because of skill. If he can bring any return it would be great for the Canes. But there’s always the option of holding onto Peters.

Trading Elias Lindholm for a rental is not smart. If the Hurricanes got somebody really worth it, then maybe, but right now I wouldn’t consider moving the 18-year-old.

Drayson Bowman’s a possibility, however he was playing strong before the Olympic break. He will not bring much in return though. Same goes for Patrick Dwyer, who probably has more value on the Canes roster than in a trade as a dime-a-dozen defensive player.

Cam Ward we’ve been over plenty of times. Trading him in-season doesn’t make much sense, but in the offseason, it could be a smart move.
