Charlotte Checkers Recap

Things went better for the Checkers in this one, then it did on Tuesday night, but the team still fell to the Abbottsford Heat, 4-3.

The game went into the third period tied at two after Zach Boychuk and Danny Biega scored for the Checkers in the first two periods. Ben Street gave the Heat the lead before Biega scored his second of the night to retie the game.

But it wouldn’t last as Corban Knight scored with less than four minutes left to give the Heat the lead that would last until the end of regulation.

Boychuk also added an assist, while Brett Sutter had two and Ryan Murphy had one. Mike Murphy made 24 saves on 28 shots.

The Checkers next game is against the Oklahoma City Barons tomorrow night at 7:30 ET.
