Charlotte Checkers Recap

Cam Ward only let in one goal in the first game of his two-game stint with the Checkers, but it was enough to down the team as it lost to the Lake Erie Monsters last night, 1-0.

Paul Carey scored the lone goal seven minutes into the game, which ended up being the game winner nearly 53 minutes later.

Ryan Murphy, who played in his second game with the Checkers since being sent, and had six shots in net. Obviously none found the back of the net. He led the team with Brett Sutter for most shots fired.

The Checkers fell to 11th in the Western Conference and are three points out of the final playoff spot. Luckily for the team, it will have a chance to rebound from this one right away as the Checkers’ next game is tomorrow against the Monsters at 7 p.m.

Hopefully for the team, the players will have an answer for hot goaltending and be able to put a few pucks in the net.
