Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers just have the Oklahoma City Barons number this season as they won their sixth game against the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year and by a huge margin, winning, 9-3.

At the end of the first the game was tied at one with Aaron Palushaj scoring the first goal of the game, but after a three-goal second period from Charlotte, the Checkers had control of the game. Greg Nemisz, Brett Sutter and Zach Boychuk had the goals.

Boychuk would end up with a hat trick as he scored the first two goals of the second period, while Victor Rask, Matt Marquardt and Rasmus Rissanen also scored to give the Checkers’ nine goals.

John Muse earned his second win in as many nights making 26 saves.

The Checkers next play on Tuesday against the Norfolk Admirals.
