Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers dominance over the Oklahoma City Barons continued last night as John Muse made 31 saves to earn a 4-0 shutout win.

Greg nemisz and Justin Shugg both scored in the first period, while Brett Sutter scored in the second period. Shugg scored his second of the night with three minutes left in the second stanza to score the Checkers’ final goal.

Aaron Palushaj, Danny Biega, Zach Boychuk and Chris Terry all recorded assists.

The win moves the Checkers up to 10th place in the Western Conference, a position they have not been in for a long time after having a dreadful December. They also sit a point out of the final playoff spot.

Charlotte will have a chance to improve on its standings as the team takes on the Barons again tonight at 7 ET.
