Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers were able to finish out their weekend with a three-game winning streak as they defeated the Norfolk Admirals last night, 4-3, in the shootout.

The win also came as a comeback as the team fought back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits. Aaron Palushaj scored the first goal for Charlotte at the end of the first period, before Mark Flood tied it nine minutes into the second period.

Alex Grant made it 3-2 a minute into the third, but Greg Nemisz tied the game with just over five minutes left to send the game to overtime.

Palushaj, Chris Terry and Matthew Pistilli all scored in the shootout, while John Muse only allowed one goal in the skills competition. Muse also made 36 saves on 39 shots during regulation and overtime.

The Checkers are still in 11th place in the Western Conference, but only three points out of a playoff spot. The team next plays Thursday against the Oklahoma City Barons.
