Charlotte Checkers Recap

Last night was not friendly at all to the Checkers as they fell 7-1 to the Iowa Stars, ending a three-game win streak.

The Stars scored early and often ending the first period with a 3-0 lead. The team scored another one to start the second period, before Aaron Palushaj scored the lone goal for the Checkers. The Stars finished the period with three straight goals.

If there’s any good news the Checkers can take away from this game, it’s that they didn’t allow a goal in the final stanza.

Mike Murphy let up six goals before John Muse replaced him in net, making four saves on five shots.

The Checkers will need a quick turnaround from this one as they’ll meet the Stars again today at noon.
