Carolina Hurricanes Recall Elias Lindholm And Assign Aaron Palushaj To The Charlotte Checkers

The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled Elias Lindholm and assigned Aaron Palushaj to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League. Elias Lindholm joined Sweden for the World Junior Championships. Sweden fell to Finland in the Gold Medal game.

Elias Lindholm finished with 9 points (2 goals, 7 assists) in 6 games in the tournament. He played very well with the Swedish team. The Swedes lost to Finland 3-2 in overtime of the Gold Medal game. Lindholm and the Swedish team did not win the tournament, but they did get to the Gold Medal game, which is something to be proud of.

Now that Elias Lindholm has played big time hockey overseas, he will return to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes are fighting for a playoff spot, and having Elias Lindholm will certainly help, especially is he can build off his performance in the World Junior Championships.

Elias Lindholm has played 21 games this season for the Carolina Hurricanes. The 2013 fifth overall pick has 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) this year in Carolina. He has not played for the Carolina Hurricanes since December 12th against the Calgary Flames.

The Carolina Hurricanes have sent Aaron Palushaj back to the Charlotte Checkers in the AHL. Aaron Palushaj played in one game for the Carolina Hurricanes. Though the former second round draft pick did not register a point, he played well on the fourth line with Zach Boychuk and Brett Sutter.
