Tuesday Carolina Hurricanes Report

Carolina Hurricanes News

  • Jiri Tlusty was not chosen by the Czech Republic Olympic team yesterday (Cardiac Cane)
  • The Hurricanes play the Buffalo Sabres tonight. A preview will be posted later this morning.
  • Corey Sznajder looks at the game against the Nashville Predators by the numbers (Shutdown Line)
  • Michael Peckerar looks at five Hurricanes that are playing at the top of their games over the current win streak (Rant Sports)

My Opinion: Anton Khudobin and Jeff Skinner are obvious choices. Manny Malhotra has played strong, especially in the game against the Predators and had a great goal against the Capitals and Alexander Semin has been consistently good over the last four games.

One player that I have a problem with on the list is Jordan Staal. He had three good games, but did not look good against the Predators. He had troubles entering the zone and his line had some problems against Mike Fisher. Had this list been done before the Preds game, I would have no problem with Staal on the list.

Instead, I would put Ron Hainsey on the list. He’s played some great hockey and is a calming influence on the blue line and continues to help Brett Bellemore through his rookie season.
