Hurricanes World Junior Update

  • Jaccob Slavin did not record a point in USA’s 5-3 lost to Russia. USA is now out of the tournament. Slavin had a goal in five games.
  • Elias Lindholm had a goal and three assists in Sweden’s 6-0 win over Slovakia. Erik Karlsson did not record a point.

Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers had a two-goal lead in the second period of their game against the Texas Stars, but could not hold onto the lead as they eventually fell 5-3.

Philippe Cornet scored the game’s first goal before Travis Morin scored to tie the game for the Stars. Brendan Woods scored before the end of the first period to give the Checkers a lead into intermission

Chris Terry scored his 13th goal of the season in the second period, but after that, it was all Stars, as they scored four unanswered goals.

Aaron Palushaj continued his point streak as he had an assist. John Muse made 33 saves in the lost.

The Checkers and Stars will play again tomorrow night at 7 ET.
