Carolina Hurricanes Injury Report: Cam Ward and Riley Nash Are Injured With Lower-Body Injuries

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that starting goaltender Cam Ward is injured with a lower-body injury. Cam Ward was in goal for the Carolina Hurricanes comeback win against the Montreal Canadiens on New Year’s Eve, so he got injured in that game.

Cam Ward played for the entirety of the Carolina Hurricanes win against the Montreal Canadiens

No specifics have been released as to what Cam Ward injured. No timetable has been released for Cam Ward’s injury. We will likely get more information after the Carolina Hurricanes practice today.

Cam Ward will not be with the Carolina Hurricanes on their upcoming road trip where they play the Washington Capitals and New York Islanders. This will certainly delay any kind of goalie trade from the Carolina Hurricanes.

Anton Khudobin is back and ready to play for the Carolina Hurricanes, so this isn’t too devastating for the Carolina Hurricanes. Justin Peters and Khudobin will likely be splitting the starts during Cam Ward’s absence from the lineup.

Riley Nash was also absent from Carolina Hurricanes practice with a lower-body injury he suffered against the Montreal Canadiens.

Tim Gleason was not at Carolina Hurricanes practice today. No explanation has been given for this. He also did not play against the Montreal Canadiens on New Year’s Eve. This could be a trade in the works, or this could be an injury that has yet to be announced.
