Charlotte Checkers Preview

Two nights after making a come-from-behind win over the Milwaukee Admirals, the Checkers will face another tough Western Conference opponent in the Chicago Wolves this afternoon at 5 ET. The Wolves sit in fifth place in the conference, while the Checkers are in 12th.

However, the Checkers will now start a stretch without their leading scorer, Zach Boychuk, who is with the Hurricanes for the time being. How they do without him could define whether the Checkers are a playoff team or not.

But Charlotte could have NHLer Anton Khudobin in net, who is with the team on a conditioning stint.
