World Junior Championship Preview Part Two

The WJC starts tomorrow – there’s been a few pre-tournament games, but the official games will commence this morning at 7:30 ET as Canada takes on Germany.

The Canes will have three players in action tomorrow with Elias Lindholm, Erik Karlsson and Jaccob Slavin playing their first games tomorrow.

Lindholm and Karlsson will look to earn a gold medal in their native Sweden when the team takes on Switzerland at 1 p.m. ET. Lindholm has the chance to be one of the best players in the tournament and a shot at the tournament MVP. With a stacked team around him and rare NHL experience, he’ll have a better chance than most others.

Slavin will represent America in its game against the Czech Republic at 11:30 a.m. ET. I’m not too sure of what role Slavin will play for Team USA. He was a late addition to the camp, but outplayed others to make the team. USA is carrying seven defensemen so there is a chance he is scratched in some games.

For a more complete preview on Team USA’s game against the Czech Republic, read Chris Peter’s preview here.

Some WJC games will be broadcasted on NHL Network, TSN and on
