Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers failed to get revenge on the Toronto Marlies as the team lost to Toronto twice in the past two nights, last night by a 5-2 score.

Greg McKegg got the scoring started in the first period. Chris Terry scored his 11th of the season to create the only tie in the game in the second period. But the Marlies scored the next two goals, before Brett Sutter scored to end the second period.

The Marlies scored twice in the third period to seal the victory.

Sutter and Terry also added assists to their night, while Aaron Palushaj and Zach Boychuk recorded assists. John Muse suffered his first loss in five games as he made 32 saves on 36 shots.

The Checkers now have off until Friday when they play the Milwaukee Admirals. The team will then start a four-game Western Conference trip that will have an important factor on its playoff chances.
