Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers’ four-game winning streak is over as the team lost to the Toronto Marlies last night, 3-1.

The first period ended scoreless, but the second period was all Marlies as Tyler Biggs Spencer Abbott scored to give the team a 2-0 lead. Eight minutes into the third, Brad Ross scored to give the Marlies a 3-0 lead.

But Zach Boychuk ended hope for a shutout as he scored with seven minutes left on the power-play. Michal Jordan recorded the only assist. Mike Murphy played in his second game since coming back from injury, but was not able to earn a win, but made 35 saves on 38 shots.

The Checkers will get another shot against the Marlies as they play their third game in as many days tonight at 7 ET. John Muse could be in net again. The goalie has four wins in his last four.
