Carolina Hurricanes Injury Report: The Canes Are Finally Healthy

The Carolina Hurricanes are finally healthy. Mike Komisarek, Brett Bellemore and Anton Khudobin are all back and have been practicing with the team this week. Elias Lindholm and Joni Pitkanen are the only two players that are unable to play for the Carolina Hurricanes right now.

Elias Lidholm is already on his way to Sweden after being loaned to Sweden for the World Junior Championships, and Joni Pitkanen is still out with an ankle injury that he suffered last season that will likely end his NHL career.

Brett Bellemore will be in the lineup tonight for the Carolina Hurricanes. He suffered a concussion thanks to high hit back on December 3 against the Washington Capitals. The Carolina Hurricanes will play the Washington Capitals tonight in Raleigh.

Mike Komisarek is back, but he is expected to be a healthy scratch against the Washington Capitals.

Anton Khudobin has been medically cleared to play. The problem is getting him back into the lineup. In my opinion, there’s no way you can make Justin Peters a healthy scratch right now, and Cam Ward is the veteran “star” who should be leading this team in net, so it will be very tough to get Khudobin back in the net.

They could still send Khudobin on a conditioning stint in Charlotte, but that seems pretty unlikely, even though it is probably the best thing for the team. Khudobin would have to approve a conditioning stint, and if the Carolina hurricanes were going to send him to Charlotte, they probably would have already done it.

This has been the healthiest that the Carolina Hurricanes have been this year. Technically, they should be the best Carolina Hurricanes team that we’ve seen this year. Hopefully that will be the case for the Carolina Hurricanes.
