Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers played perhaps their most exciting game of the season last night as the team scored twice in the final two minutes of the game to earn a second consecutive win over the San Antonio Rampage. Charlotte ended up winning by a 3-2 score.

The Rampage started the scoring in the first period, before Zach Boychuk scored his 10th of the season to tie it before the end of the stanza.

The second period was scoreless, but San Antonio’s Jed Ortmeyer scored on the power-play two minutes into the third to give the Rampage a 2-1 lead.

Keegan Lowe scored with 1:10 left before Chris Terry scored with eight seconds left to win the game for the Checkers and earn them two points over a close rival in the standings.

Boychuk had two assists for a three-point night, while John Muse earned his second win in a row over the Rampage.

The Checkers next play Sunday against the Norfolk Admirals.
