Danny Biega and Keegan Lowe
Both defensemen had succesful amateur careers, Biega in the NCAA with Harvard and Lowe with the Edmonton Oil Kings. Both are with the Charlotte Checkers in their rookie seasons.
Biega figured to be more of the offensive defenseman, but only has four points in 23 games. Lowe has actually put up more points with six, including one goal.
Although neither numbers are that impressive, the transition from college and juniors to the AHL can be difficult, especially for defensemen. The Checkers were also going through a rough patch through the month of November that may have kept the players off the score sheet.
Look for the two players to improve as the season goes on. They had the potential to make the NHL at some point in their careers and with only two months under their belts in the AHL, they are likely to improve.
