Charlotte Checkers Preview

The Checkers will face the Rockford Ice Hogs for the second time in three days tonight at 7 ET. The Checkers earned an overtime win over the Ice Hogs Thursday, coming back from a 2-0 deficit to win the game 3-2.

Last game, Zach Boychuk led the team to a win with two goals. Despite being called up for the Hurricanes game against the Sharks, he should be back in Charlotte for the Ice Hogs game, which is great news for the team.

Boychuk, Chris Terry and Brett Sutter have combined to create an excellent first line for the Checkers that recorded a combined six points on Thursday.

Michal Jordan and Jared Staal are close to returning from injuries and could possibly play tonight depending on how they feel.

Mike Murphy could get the start in net. He hasn’t played since being sent down to the Checkers because of an injury, but is healthy now. However, John Muse earned the win on Thursday, so coach Jeff Daniels may go with the hot hand.
